Ever been excited to see your advert in the latest newspaper and then observed that the crucial tag line is missing or your logo has been ruined.</p>
<p>There is only one way to prevent this from happening and that is to set up a style guide. Not only will a style guide aid you steer the reproduction of your logo - it will also help you fortify your brand recognition – which many argue is one of the strongest selling tools.</p>
<p>We have placed the below steps together for you as a starting point.</p>
<p><strong>Step 1</strong> : Define the audience for your Style Guide. Is this for staff to put to work in-house or is this for suppliers and contractors to refer to?</p>
<p><strong>Step 2</strong> : Mark what your output uses are. This is important because you will need different logos and file formats for example, black and white publication adverts in comparison to vehicle graphics.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The typical question that is asked when buying a new projector for the home, office, or classroom is: would I purchase an LCD projector or a DLP projector? LCD, an acronym for ‘liquid crystal device’ and DLP, short for ‘digital light processing’ are the two most common projector imaging technologies. With so many different brands and types available, it can be overwhelming for the buyer to make a decision between these technologies. Ultimately LCD projectors provide better image quality and colour accuracy. The article below will tell you why DLP projectors struggle with reproducing the same standard of image quality.</p>
<p>Imagine a set of blinds in your household on your bedroom window. By twisting a rod you can have the shutters open or closed, according to if you want to let light in or not. And that is exactly how an LCD projector behaves. Each pixel functions like its own shutter on a set of blinds to either allow light through or to block it. DLP on the other hand is created of millions of microscopic mirrors or ‘pixel elements’ as the experts like to call them. Each pixel element works to either reflect light or block it.</p>
<p>How the light source is processed from the point at which the projector turns on to when the image reaches your screen is ultimately significant to image quality, brightness and colour accuracy. LCD projectors project white light from the lamp by dividing it into red, blue and green components, by three mirrors which project the coloured light to 3 stand alone LCD panels. The 3 LCD panels cast the elements of the image by turning each pixel on and off. The pixels are then meshed in a glass prism to deliver the projector image. A point to know about LCD projectors is that all three colours are projected onto your projector screen at the same time. The way a DLP projector operates is very different and even the final product of how an image appears is not the same. With DLP, white light from the lamp is directed through a rotating colour wheel with transparent red, blue and green segments, at speeds up to 11,000 rpm/s. This way of making an image forms a sequence of red, blue and green light. The millions of micro mirrors mentioned above reflect the coloured light on the pixels to construct the image elements. The elements of the image are projected in sequence on the screen, one colour at a time. The viewer&#8217;s vision will then draw each coloured element of the image into a full image. In LCD projectors, all colours are available all the time to deliver the highest brightness and spectacular colour accuracy. In DLP, just one colour is available at once, and so causing lower colour brightness and accuracy. Some DLP developers have included a white segment in the colour wheel to improve overall brightness, but this also detracts from colour accuracy.</p>
<p>I see in forums all the time that DLP gives a higher contrast ratio and as such must be better. For those who are unsure, the contrast ratio is a measure of a display system defined as the ratio of the luminance of the brightest white to that of the darkest black that the projector is able to produce. DLP projectors do possess high contrast specifications compared to most LCD projectors. Initially, this must be a plus, however, in real life, the true black level is determined by the ambient light in the room in which the projector is utilised. Do not be duped by contrast specifications on websites and in brochures.</p>
<p>When the content you plan to project requires moving images, DLP projection technology also has image errors, or ‘artifacts’. The most common artifact that a DLP projector forms with moving images is colour break up. Colour break up is incontrovertible in DLP systems because moving images change between the time red, blue and green colours are shone. LCD projectors do not have this characteristic because the colours are delivered with the others. DLP manufacturers have developed 3DLP solutions using 3 chips to solve the colour break up artifacts, but the price tag of these projectors make them almost impossible for the majority of businesses and consumers.</p>
<p>Another variance between LCD and DLP is how they match the balance for the refractive qualities of light. Take yourself back to high school science, and recall how the different colours of light refract different amounts when directed through the same lens. The disadvantage with DLP projectors is that they use the one same panel with the same lens to project Red, Blue and Green. All 3 colours are obviously different and refract light in a different way. Usually with a DLP projector, some yellow colour will be projected above and some blue will be projected below an image of something as simple as a single black line. In building LCD projectors can be set to take away these effects on the projected image, as each colour is directed on separate LCD panels.</p>
<p>The one veritable plus (excluding price) with choosing a DLP projector is its smaller size and weight. However, this is only relevant with regard to mobility and cannot be traded off against the image superiority of LCD projectors. If the result of the picture quality is important to you, then the answer is easy. Go for an LCD projector! LCD projectors will constantly show bright, colourful images with fewer image mistakes. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As the Dutch found preeminence in sea power during the 17th century, the early yacht was a leisure craft used first by royalty and secondly by the burghers in the canals as well as the protected and unprotected waters of the Low Countries. Racing was incidental, arising as private games. English yachting started with King Charles II of England during his exile in the Low Countries. On his restoration to the English royalty in 1660, the city of Amsterdam sent him a 20-metre (66-foot) leisure boat with a beam (maximum width) of 5.6 m (18 feet), which he named Mary. Charles and his brother James, the duke of York (James II, sovereign 1685–88), ordered for more yachts and in 1662 raced two of them from the Thames, from Greenwich, to Gravesend, and the same way back, on a Â£100 wager. Yachting became fashionable for the affluent and aristocracy, but after that period the fashion did not last.</p>
<p>The first yacht group in the British Isles, the Water Club, was formed in about 1720 at Cork, Ire., as a cruising and unofficial coast guard association, and held great naval panoply and rigour. The closest thing to racing was the “chase,” when the “fleet” pursued a fictional enemy. The club went on, largely as a social club, until 1765, and in 1828, by joining with other groups, it became the Cork Yacht Club (later the Royal Cork Yacht Club).</p>
<p>Yacht racing was first seen in some stipulated manner on the Thames in the mid-18th century. The duke of Cumberland funded the Cumberland Fleet for Thames racing in 1775. When George IV rose to the throne in 1820, it was known as the Fleet to His Majesty&#8217;s Coronation Sailing Society. The Thames Yacht Club seceded with a racing fight, to become the Royal Thames Yacht Club in 1830. The first English yacht group had been started at Cowes on the Isle of Wight in 1815, and royal funding made the Solent - the strait between the mainland and the Isle of Wight - the continued site of British racing. The society at Cowes became the Royal Yachting Club, again at the rise of George IV. All members were required to have boats of at least 20 tons (20,321 kg). Sailing tests for high bets were held, and the society life was wonderful. It came to be that the Royal Yachting Club boats increased in size to over 350 tons.</p>
<p>In North America, yachting started with the Dutch in New York in the 17th century and continued when the English took power. Sailing was largely for fun and reached its high point in George Crowinshield&#8217;s Cleopatra&#8217;s Barge (1815), which cruised on the Mediterranean Sea and set a benchmark of luxury and elegance for the later yachts in that area from the late 19th century. The first enduring American yacht club, the Detroit Boat Club, was instigated in 1839. In 1844, John C. Stevens instigated the New York Yacht Club while on board his schooner Gimcrack.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of sailboats<br /></strong>Early sailing yachts were within the lines of such naval craft as brigantines, schooners, and cutters from the 17th century until the later half of the 19th century. The style of bigger yachts was first greatly put upon by the success of America, which was drawn by George Steers for a association started by John C. Stevens, and it was the boat for which the America&#8217;s Cup (q.v.) found its namesake after its win at Cowes in 1851. The first yachts were not designed and manufactured in a contemporary sense, with merely a model for an outline. Not until the second half of the 19th century did what was called naval architecture come into being. Not until the 1920s did the employment of the research of aerodynamics do for the design of sails and rigging what such science had earlier done for hulls.</p>
<p>Because nearly all sailboats were individually built, there came a requirement for handicapping boats as this was previous to the one-design class boats were made. Hence, a rating rule was written, which resulted in the International Rule, taken on in 1906 and amended in 1919. Today, one of the rapidly blossoming areas in the field of sailing is that of one-design class boats. All boats in a one-design class are built to single requirements in length, beam, sail area, and other aspects (for an example of a two-person sailboat, see illustration). Racing for those boats can be done on an even playing field with no handicapping required. A perfect example is the generic International America&#8217;s Cup Class taken on board for yachts in the 1992 America&#8217;s Cup race.</p>
<p>For the time that yachting belonged largely for the aristocracy and the rich, cost was no object, and the size of boats grew, in both length and weight. The rise and desire of smaller craft happened in the second half of the 19th century from the sailing of the Englishmen R.T. McMullen, a stockbroker, and E.F. Knight, a barrister and journalist. A trip around the world (1895–98) captained single-handedly by the naturalized American captain Joshua Slocum in the 11.3-metre Spray made plain the value of smaller craft. Thereafter in the 20th century, for the larger part after World War II, smaller racing and pleasure boats became more common, down to the dinghy, a favoured training boat, of 3.7 m. In the late 20th century, craft of less than 3 m were setting sail single-handedly across the Atlantic Ocean.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of power yachts<br /></strong>After the decade 1840–50, in which steam started to emulate sail power in commercial boats, the steam engine, and later the internal-combustion engine, were increasingly used in personal vessels. Sizeable power yachts were progressed to a high element, and long-distance cruising was a favourite activity of the affluent. The first power yachts were paddle-wheel boats; these then made way to those powered by the completely submerged screw or propeller kind of propulsion. Like naval and merchant yachts, auxiliaries possessing both sail and power were the yacht archetype for several years. By the later half of the 20th century, a lot of yachts were still auxiliaries, but the majority were exclusively power yachts that had gasoline or diesel engines.</p>
<p>From the last decade of the 19th century there was a rise in the construction of more sizeable steam yachts. Notably of these was the Mayflower (1897) of 2,690 tons, with triple-expansion engines, twin screws, and a compartmented iron hull, and was sailed by a crew of at least 150. The Mayflower, purchased by the United States Navy in 1898, was the official yacht of the president of the United States until 1929 and was used in active service for World War II.</p>
<p>As bigger and more dependable internal-combustion engines were produced, many bigger yachts were using them for power. The development of the diesel engine, using heavy oil for fuel, was furthered during World War I. From the decade following that, large power-yacht creation grew, reaching a climax in the Orion (1930) at 3,097 tons. During that point the biggest auxiliary yacht manufactured was the four-masted, steel, barque-rigged Sea Cloud (1931) of 2,323 tons.</p>
<p>The construction of big power yachts fell away after 1932, and the style from then was toward smaller, less pricey craft. From World War II, a lot of small naval boats were traded by private owners for conversion to yachts. In the late 20th century, yachting has become a internationally popular activity enjoyed by thousands of yachtsmen personally sailing and keeping their own small pleasure boats. The number of craft and sailors increased steadily, not only in the traditional locations by the seacoasts but also on inland waterways and lakes.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Taxes can be categorized by the impact they have on the placement of income and wealth. A proportional tax is one that puts the same relative requirement on each taxpayer—i.e., when tax liability and income grow in equal proportion. A progressive tax is characterized by a more than proportional rise in the tax onus relative to the rise in income, and a regressive tax is characterized by a less than proportional rise in the comparative onus. Therefore, progressive taxes are seen as removing inequity in income distribution, while regressive taxes can cause an increase in these inequalities.</p>
<p>The taxes that are generally thought to be progressive include individual income taxes and estate taxes. Income taxes that are declarably progressive, however, may become less so in the upper-income class—particularly if a taxpayer is able to reduce his tax base by nominating deductions or by leaving out some certain income aspects from his taxable income. Proportional tax rates which are applied to lower-income classes will also be more progressive if exemptions of a personal nature are claimed.</p>
<p>Income measured over the period of a year may not necessarily come up with the most accurate measure of taxpaying requirements. For example, transitory rises in income may be saved, and during temporary declines in income a taxpayer could decide to pay for consumption by reducing savings. Ergo, if taxation is regarded along with “permanent income,” it would be less regressive (or more progressive) than if it is held in comparison with annual income.</p>
<p>Sales taxes and excises (save those on luxuries) are generally regressive, because the dissemination of personal income consumed or spent on specific goods lowers as the amount of personal income is raised. Poll taxes (also known as head taxes), nominated as a standard amount per capita, obviously are regressive.</p>
<p>It is not simple to dictate corporate income taxes and taxes on business as progressive, regressive, or proportionate, due to uncertainty about the ability of businesses to shift their tax expenses (see below Shifting and incidence). This difficulty of nominating who bears the tax burden depends essentially on whether a national or a subnational (that is, provincial or state) tax is being decided.</p>
<p>In assessing the economic effect of taxation, it is necessary to differentiate between several ideas of tax rates. The statutory rates will include those dictated in legislature; usually these are marginal rates, but sometimes they are median rates. Marginal income tax rates denote the fraction of incremental income demanded by taxation when income grows by one dollar. Ergo, if tax onus grows by 45 cents when income grows by one dollar, the marginal tax rate is 45 percent. Income tax laws commonly contain graduated marginal rates—i.e., rates that grow as income increases. Structured analysis of marginal tax rates must take into account provisions in addition to the formal statutory rate structure. If, for example, a particular tax credit (reduction in tax) falls by 20 cents for each one-dollar increase in income, the marginal rate is 20 percentage points higher than nominated in the statutory rates. Since marginal rates indicate how after-tax income moves in response to changes in before-tax income, they are the appropriate ones for considering incentive effects of taxation. It is even more difficult to nominate the marginal effective tax rate to apply to income from business and capital, as it may rely on factors such as the structure of depreciation allowances, the deductibility of interest, and the provisions for inflation adjustment. A basic economic theorem determines that the marginal effective tax rate in income from capital is nil under a consumption-based tax.</p>
<p>Average income tax rates determine the percentage of total income that is taken in taxation. The pattern of average rates is the one that is important for assessing the distributional equity of taxation. Under a progressive income tax the average income tax rate grows with income. Average income tax rates usually grow with income, both because personal allowances are permitted for the taxpayer and dependents and because marginal tax rates are graduated; on the other hand, preferential treatment of income received fundamentally by high-income households can dwarf these effects, forcing regressivity, as shown by average tax rates that lower as income rises.</p>
